Rescue Training

NASC SG19:17 A guide to Formulating a Rescue Plan, states: –

“Before starting work scaffolders should be given training, which is recorded by their employer.  It is essential that periodic refresher training is carried out at appropriate intervals. Training should be repeated if circumstances change significantly on site e.g. new personnel, design changes, new equipment introduced etc. Refresher training should be provided on a regular basis to prevent skill fade.”

On June 28, 2025, Magnum conducted the latest round of Rescue Training for their employees.

This training was facilitated by a company named Intervention Rescue and took place on scaffolding erected in Parade Park, Bath.

The scaffolding featured several intriguing elements, such as a temporary roof, cantilevers, and bridges, which allowed for the practice of rescue operations using various scaffolding features in different scenarios.

Following completion of the Training employees receive a certificate that is dated and is valid for 12 months.

Whilst the training proved to be informative, interesting and enjoyable for all participants, in compliance with current regulations and NASC safety guidance noted above, Magnum regularly carry out Rescue Training to  ensure that workers are competent and equipped to perform a rescue if necessary.

As an example, following an earlier round of rescue training, Magnum upgraded the harnesses issued employees to a new model, recommended by Intervention Rescue and Training.
